JOSH MEADER

Joshua Meader (26) has recently graduated with a 1st Class Honours degree for jazz performance at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music. He has been playing music for 19 years and was taught by his father and professional musician, Paul Meader from a young age. He came 2nd in the Australian National jazz Awards at the Wangaratta Jazz & Blues Festival in 2022. 

 

In 2022 Josh performed at the Montreux International Jazz Festival in Switzerland, hosting the jam session every night for two weeks alongside Sydney based band, Brekky Boy. In April 2023, his trio featuring Australian National Jazz Award Winners, Matthew Hirlian (2021) and Alex Hirlian (2018), performed at JazzAhead in Bremen, Germany, being awarded 1 of the 32 prestigious slots to showcase at the festival. Later in May, the trio performed a sold-out show at Studio De L’Ermitage in Paris, in a double bill event featuring the Antoine Boyer Quartet, organised by Thalica. 

 

He’s also performed at many renowned venues in Australia, including; The Sydney Opera House, Sydney Entertainment Center, Sydney Town Hall, Qudos Bank Arena, Manly Jazz Festival, Venue 505, Foundry 616, and the Lazybones Lounge. Notable shows include performances at ENCORE 2016, and being a featured Artist at the School Spectacular in 2010, 2011, 2012, 2014, 2015, and 2016.
